On the bus to Italy

Verona

My parents, my sister and I left home in time. We got there so early, the bus hadn't even arrived! Slowly, everyone and arrived, and then the bus came, too. We packed in and said goodbye to our families. I would say we said a teary goodbye, but I won't, because it wasn't. We're talking about teenagers here :) . I was sitting next to my friend, Dóri (or Dory, if you prefer the american name). You'll probably hear about her later.

We left the bright city (I forgot to mention we left at night, in order to sleep on the bus) and got on the highway. It took a while, but soon everybody fell asleep. I probably went to sleep at midnight. I woke up when we were already in Slovania. There, you need to pay to use the highway. After that, whenever we approached one of these stops or had a potty break at a gas station, l woke up. And that was pretty often! At 7am, we stopped for the last time before arriving to our first sightseeing. Everybody brushed their hair, did their makeup and washed their face. It was well needed after a night on the bus! It was so funny, because all of the gas stations had the same thing: PASTA!!! All different types of pasta. There were pasta shells about 6 cm ( inches) in length!!! :O

We got to Verona, a beautiful little city. All the streets are narrow, and the houses have flowers and plants on their balconys. It's so pretty! Here is an old arena at the main square.

Then we headed towards Juliet's balcony. They have a little postbox for the letters to Juliet. And guess what that mailbox looks like... That's right! It looks like the balcony! After that we went to a bridge and checked out a castle. We hurried back to the bus and we were off to Assisi!
